Where does all this 'decolonisation' narrative stand after Modi's visit to Israel and the abomination of his speech to the Knesset?
This Hindutva ghoul is driving his country into a terrible position - both internally and externally..
Strange that you should write and still post this two days after Modi's visit..Did you not have any misgivings? Or did you simply choose to ignore it?
If so, why?
I too share your appreciation of the enrichment of life through counter-colonisation and this has been deepened by living abroad in various places throughout at least half of my life..
But Modi's courting of Zionist favour, obviously aimed at a closer relationship with the Western Empire which will place India in the crosshairs of East West rivalry..let alone the terrible internal struggles likely to erupt... well, it makes a mockery of everything you have been writing about...
I hung my head in shame at the passage on Churchill. I was taught at school he was a hero, but my father expressed his disgust at that and told me how ruthless he was with fighting mens lives and those of other nations. My grandfather taught me about our treatment of Indians, when he was their towards the ebpndvof the first World War. Still the Tories mention him and Thatcher as great figures. Makes me sick.
