I am considering associating/characterizing the 3 layers of the US, which Aaron Good discerns, with/as a partial psychological portrait of USA. (Dorian Gray to harmonize with Jekyll/Hyde.?)And I am willing to include many more layers.

All entities, individuals or a collective such as a country, have many aspects. Neither individual nor a collective need naturally nor necessarily be internally coherent or consistent. They all have light and dark/shadow.

Continuing with a psychotherapy lens, perhaps Gabor Mate’s insights about toxic societies might add more perceptions for our search for the nature of this country. Toxic environments create illness and dis-ease in people. The solution ergo is to clear toxins, so healthy people and state may emerge again. This perspective allows for hope to be a possibility. Hope for regenerative aspirations, intentions, and actions.

Yes, Aaron’s work is special- he reveals the taboo documents and explores forbidden narratives--he wrote outside of the orthodox academic community which would excommunicate its employees for such audacious courage. Kudos to him.

Yes, Kudos to Aaron. I might reach out to him for a chat. It is very true about the many aspects of the psyche of a culture or a country. I know of Gabor Mate, but do not know what he says about toxic societies. Can you point me to where I can find out more?
